Tonight I spent four hours making a little cat doll out of my old green t-shirt and my daughter's old pink floral skirt. It's for the Recycled Stuffy Swap, which I coordinated. Her name is Queenie. :)

I haven't around to getting my old sewing machine working, so I stitched it all by hand. That's why it took a while. The skirt actually took longer than the kitty did.

I also decided to use photographs for the Vintage/Retro ATC swap I coordinated. I bought some photographic ATCs on ebay a while back and really liked them. My photos aren't that great, but I'm working on it. The upside is that I can print multiple copies instead of having to make each one by hand. I have three partners for this swap, and I am sending each partner two ATCs.

And I did a few swap items today too. I did all six ATCs for the Black and White swap (going to two different partners) and I made my other Handmade Christmas Gift.

Magnets for the Handmade Christmas Gift Swap
My swap partner for ther Handmade Christmas Gift Swap collects fridge magnets, so I made her new ones for her collection. I handpainted them on wooden shapes and glued nice strong magnet discs to the backs, then varnished them. I took the pic before varnishing (as I usually do for things like this) to avoid having to deal with glare from the flash.

I've got to get down to business. I've been working on a very bright and funky scarf for my Vegan Pal swap partner who likes bright colors. I made the Chicken and Wild Rice soup that Moonie sent me for the instant soup swap and it was really good. Just what I needed. I was suprised how much all the dehydrated rice and veggies plumped up when I cooked them. It was actually a very hearty soup! Yum. :)
